I called my Nissan parts guy this morning and asked him these questions about warranty and oil. He said for the warranty, he is required to take down my vin and mileage and put it on my receipt (which he did yesterday). And he also has to sell me the recommended Nissan manual transmission oil. It has to be on the receipt with the trans. He said the 75w85 is what Nissan recommends and it's the only oil Nissan has that is called manual transmission oil. He said that the 75w90 is even called synthetic axle lube right on the label. He said I can use whatever I want. But for warranty purposes, I need to have the 75w85 on my receipt. He said he would call Nissan for clarification, which he did. He called me back a few hours later. Nissan said that either one was fine. But they still recommended the 75w85... So take that for what it's worth. And in the end, use whichever one you want. But Nissan did say that you were correct, Bernie. That you leave the oil in it that the transmission is shipped with for the first 5000 miles. So what it says on Concept Z's website is definitely incorrect.
